I feel like I have to write something vague and generic for the first blog. But that's dumb. I can write anything I want!
Anyways, I'm home in Florida for the weekend. I will have seen a movie every day since I came in. I saw "The Secret in Their Eyes", "Shrek 4", and in about twenty minutes I'm going to see "How To Train Your Dragon" again with my dad because he has yet to see it. Alicia has been cuter than ever. She now sleeps in front of my door whenever the door is closed, and thus I've begun an open door policy. And I've been pounding on the keys on Pegasus since I came home. It's amazing how different every piano is. Every time I come home, I have to get my hands back into the swing of things when they're playing Pegasus, versus when they're playing Icarus in New York. Or any other piano.
It's frustrating knowing that I'm not going to spend much time in Florida this summer. I'm excited for Ohio and I'm EXTREMELY excited for Sweden. The classes I'm taking right now in New York are fun. However, I don't know how much longer I'm going to have this house to call home. And I want to be able to soak up as much time here as possible.
I started writing a couple songs earlier. One of them has a really simple and pretty arpeggiated chord progression (it's always a joy when you find one of those and they feel brand new). The other one is a violent and angry "bavarian-esque," operatic piece. There are two stories in my head. I don't know which one to commit to. And every time I write music for one story, the next piece of music ends up working better for the other.
By the way, do you ever notice often how often on "Law and Order" characters relay important information while walking around hallways? It's funny.
Here's to a first blog!
